January 2015 Portsmouth Sports Club Meeting

Portsmouth Sports Club held its monthly meeting at the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club. President Jim Short introduced guest speaker Author Clay Shampoe. Clay spoke on the rich history of baseball in the local area. The legendary Abe Goldblatt had inspired Clay to research and write about the colorful players, owners, and managers who have lent to the rich legacy of baseball in Portsmouth. The club will hold its annual Jamboree March 31st at the Renaissance Hotel in Portsmouth. Nancy Liebermann will be the guest speaker. The next meeting will be February 16.
